In Uttarakhand, the pilgrims stranded at different places on Badrinath and Kedarnath routes due to heavy rain and landslides are being evacuated with the help of helicopters and other means. With some improvement in weather today, all the pilgrims from Gaurikund and Linchauli in Kedar valley were safely airlifted to Guptkashi by helicopters.

Meanwhile, 4 helicopters have been deployed to evacuate stranded pilgrims from Badrinath, Pandukeshwar, Hanumanchatti, Govindghat and Ghangriya. SDRF, ITBP and NIM Jawans have also been engaged to carry out evacuation work. Road communication along the Chardham routes is disrupted at several places. BRO personnel have been pressed into service to clear the debris.
