The two-year-old single-window system of the Goa Tourism Department for tourism-related events is likely to be changed drastically and probably will be in place for the new tourist season that begins in September-October. The Tourism Department is working on a new system to make a single-window system, for granting permissions for tourism-related events, effective in real sense. This would primarily include issuing permissions within a particular timeframe and introducing e-registrations.Ameya Abhyankar, IAS, Director – Tourism, Government of Goa, said that under the new system, the applicant will have to make a single application to the Tourism Department, which will be routed to other departments whose approvals are mandatory.

The Department is also contemplating how they can put to use the Goa (right to time-bound delivery of public services) Act, 2013, commonly known as the ‘Public Service Guarantee Act’, to issue permissions in a fixed timeframe. Meetings will be held with departments concerned shortly, Abhyankar stated.
