The festival of Losar is being celebrated today with traditional and religious fervour across Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The Losar festival marks the beginning of New Year in Ladakh and celebration last for ten days. The celebration of the festival started

Eearly morning with people in large number visiting monasteries for prayer. The largest gathering of people was witnessed at the Chowkhang Vihra in Leh town. The third day of the Ladakhi losar festival is one of the important events as people early wait for the night to see the first moon of the New Year. Special foods items like guthuk, the soup with nine ingredients, khura are being served to mark the occasion.
