The portals of the Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath have been opened for the pilgrims amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and puja Monday morning. The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will also be opened on Monday. With this, the Chardham Yatra has commenced in the State. The portals of the world famous Kedarnath Shrine have been reopened Monday morning at 7:00 A.M. with offering of pooja and chanting of vedic hymns after the winter closure. The occasion has seen the presence of thousands of pilgrims in the Kedarnath Dham.
All arrangements for the facilities and security of the visitors have been completed at the stay points along the yatra route. The portals other Himalayan shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri will also be opened for pilgrims today, while the portals of the Badrinath are to be opened on May 11.
